This Privacy Policy explains how Eat Today ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.

By using Eat Today, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Eat Today does not require an account and does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or IP address. The app works entirely anonymously.

The following information is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers:

Dietary preferences, allergens, and food dislikes
Fitness goals and daily calorie target
Saved, liked, and disliked recipes
Custom recipe lists and meal plans
Shopping list items
App settings (theme, language, units)
Notification preferences

Certain anonymous information is collected automatically to improve the app's performance. This includes anonymous app usage events (e.g. which recipes are viewed or saved) via PostHog.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use anonymous analytics data to:

Understand how people use the app
Diagnose bugs and improve performance
Make better product decisions

All analytics data is anonymised and is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party tools to operate the app:

Apple App Store — for app distribution and in-app purchases
RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and verify entitlement status
Supabase — to serve the recipe database and images (read-only, no user data stored)
PostHog (EU) — for anonymous product analytics and feature usage

These providers may collect anonymised data according to their own privacy practices. No personally identifiable information is intentionally transmitted.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We never process or store payment card information. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous device identifier to verify whether a subscription is active.

5. Push Notifications

If you opt in, Eat Today sends a daily meal-ideas reminder notification. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to external servers for this purpose. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.

6. Your Privacy Controls

Since no account is created, there is no user profile to delete. All data stored locally on your device is permanently removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Eat Today is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
